Customer Review: Excellent speakers for my purposes.
These speakers give a natural sound to voice and music. I listen a lot to classical guitar and the instrument comes through very nicely. I first placed them on a shelf on the wall above my computer. Since the speaker cones apparently are angled somewhat upward, I found they sounded better when I placed them at the same level as the computer. But either way they are excellent. Yes, JBL could have designed a better on/off button, but you can cover it with a piece of thin rubber or tape to grab it better.
I don’t know if other speakers have a volume button separate from the on/off button, a feature that would let you keep the same volume all the time. The JBLs don’t have it, but you can’t expect perfection for a mere $39 with free shipping. These speakers perfectly fit my needs.

JBL On Stage Micro Portable iPod Speaker and Docking Station (Red) Customer Review: Amazing Price Point for This Level of Quality
I bought the Micro in fire red on Amazon. The unit was on sale for 49.99 and I had a 25 dollar coupon so I got the Micro for $25. At this price point, you can’t beat it. I’m using the Micro for my work office where I’m not going to be cranking up party music. The clarity, separation and general build quality are evident. I’m getting no distortion at higher volumes. While not as rich in bass as my JBL Radial, the Micro doesn’t pretend to be a a big speaker unit. It gives you precisely what you want for close ear-range. Another nice bonus is the included cable so you can hook up the Micro speaker to a non iPod device, such as a Kaito 1103 radio. The Micro On Stage is highly recommended.

Customer Review: Unexceptional
This product’s speakers produce exactly the tinny and hollow sound one expects from a portable, battery-option speaker - precisely what JBL’s marketing declares that it transcends. Not a good solution for Sony Walkman or Microsoft Zune users looking for an equal to the many excellent portable iPod speaker systems.
